Professional Parenting is a program of:

There are children age 12 and under whose sexual abuse history and exposure to violence is so extensive that they develop sexual behavior problems. Professional Parenting has designed its Intensive Program to meet the unique needs of these children.

Children in this program are placed with Professional Parenting treatment families specifically trained and supported to meet their special needs. Only one child is placed with each family. In order to support a safe and healthy living environment, both the child and his or her treatment parents attend weekly group sessions and in-home consultations.

Program Components

  • A nationally certified program model, The Teaching Family Model, that teaches children socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Specially selected and trained treatment parents who are taught strategies for working with this population
  • Weekly group sessions, both for the children and treatment parents
  • Weekly in-home consultations by professional staff
  • 24/7 program and telephone support
  • Specialized respite services
  • Monthly financial compensation
