Professional Parenting is a program of:
The focal purpose of the Professional Parenting Specialized Foster Care program is to provide a healthy home environment for children whose issues require active and sustained interventions outside of their natural homes.
At the core of the program is a network of carefully selected parents who, after a period of special training and assessment, open their homes to children and adolescents in need of specialized care.
Professional Parenting provides ongoing support, education and consultation to all treatment families to better support each specialized placement.
Program Components
- A nationally certified program model, The Teaching Family Model, that teaches children socially acceptable behaviors.
- Careful selection of treatment parents
- Comprehensive pre-service training
- On-going in-service training
- Weekly In-home consultations by professional staff
- 24/7 program and telephone support
- Youth/family matching
- Monthly financial compensation
- Specialized respite services
Referral Information
We accept referrals of children age birth to 18 who are in the custody of a county department of social service and for whom special needs exist such as behavioral and emotional problems as well as special medical or physical conditions.
